Dennis O’Kane and the Philadelphia Brigade of the Pennsylvania 69th

Excerpts from James Francis Smith’s The Civil War’s Valiant Irish

“Is that bastid Welshman drunk or sober?”

Tonight, Duffy responded. “He’s well on his way, but not there…

Irish-Americans of Renown

I began to assemble this list of renowned Irish-Americans (including Scots-Irish) to keep me on track when I research and assemble their exploits. When their exploits are posted to my blog, I'll try to strike through their name. For example: Luke Ryan’s name is first on the list…

Hall of Fame Irish-Americans of Renown

Commodore John Barry

With the sole exception of Benjamin Franklin, Barry, the Father of the American Navy, accomplished more diverse deeds to secure America’s independence than any other person.

My experience publishing in CreateSpace - July 17, 2013 Advice for writer-wannabees.

I decided it’s time that I published print versions of my eBooks. I first checked the internet to see what folks had to say about POD publishers, and decided to choose CreateSpace. I put a date in the title because the internet has no self-policing mechanism. Therefore, I spent several days learning all about PDF, formats, templates, etc. then found, I didn’t need them.

There are three ways to submit covers and interiors to CreateSpace:

Western Civilization Now The Irish-American Chronicle

When a real-estate agent has less foot traffic than desired, he remodels the house, paints it, gets rid of the clutter, adds features the competition doesn’t have, and reduces the price.

That’s what happened to Western Civilization. It endured a title change, a new cover, a price reduction, and new features to educate while telling an interest-gripping story.

My Reply to Gerry Regan

Regarding your request to describe the Civil War sites I visited. I’d like to help you out Gerry, but I rank among the least observant people on the planet … likely due to my years as an accountant, investigating abnormalities in numbers. I believe research, and not detail description, is my strength, and I apply this technique to my writing.…
