Hello! My name is Tommy Dullaghan, and I was born and raised in NYC -- Sunnyside, Queens, to be specific. My parents were from Donegal and Monaghan and I will be using this blog to talk about all my experiences here in NYC and in Ireland about my Irish life. I have the privilege of meeting and interacting with many people and figured, since I go out all the time, why not write a few words when I encounter interesting people, places and things. I belong to the Donegal Association of New York, The Irish Business Organization (IBO) and the Irish American Writers Association of New York (IAWA), so I see plenty and have a lot of fun interacting with the community. I hope you enjoy my stories and please write me with any interests you may have and we'll talk ... Go raibh maith agaibh .. TommyD from NYC
By the way, here's an interesting bit of news:
For those of you don't know there has been a worldwide initiative going on where different cities around the world are making YouTube videos to Pharrell Williams song "Happy." Read on.
Céad míle fáilte, Tommy! I look forward to your contributions to this site. I hope you will join us April 26th at O'Lunneys Times Square. There is a listing for it in the Events section. All are welcome.
Thanks Bit, I'm having ankle surgery April 17, but should be back on my feet by the 26th. If so I would love to stop out and say hello ..
Good luck with the surgery. I'm headed for a total shoulder rebuild on May 09... Until then it's Jameson to dull the pain somewhat
Tommy a chara, thrilled to see this launch. Looking forward to gaining your perspectives on Irish culture ... worldwide!
Welcome aboard, Tommy. Blood is thicker than water, so as a Red Sox fan I'll emphasize your Irish roots and minimize your baseball rooting interests. ;)
LOL , Thanks Joe.. I won't take offense to that .. Its your God given right as a Red Sox fan to hate the Yanks. Great to meet you
Thanks Geraldine, Have a great time in Ireland. I just got back from Donegal last week..Had a great time despite the rain :) Hopefully we'll meet up sometime soon. Tommy D
