Thomas and Johanna Flahive Toomey. He came from Ballybunion in County Kerry, she from Bromore, a "bump in the road" on the outskirts of Kerry. He played football for Kerry and was a member of the original Kerry Pipers. They married and had six children, settling in New York City.
