Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo (pictured), his wife, Matilda, and more than 60 others turned out Tuesday evening in Manhattan for a reception marking the launch of "Dry Bones," the newest and third thriller from writer Peter Quinn featuring protagonist Fintan Dunne. The venue was the midtown residence of hosts New York Consul General Noel Kilkenny and his wife, Honora. Gov. Cuomo, a longtime friend of the writer, praised Quinn for his speechwriting talents, as well as his fiction. Quinn, a speechwriter for then-New York Governor Hugh Carey, and later Cuomo, helped craft Cuomo's much-discussed speech at the University of Notre Dame in 1984 looking to justify the pro-choice positions of public officials.
