This coming Monday (January 27th), we'll once again open the doors of The Virtual Síbín to welcome in all members of The Wild Geese to hear Irish storyteller, Jim Hawkins. Jim is a seasoned storyteller in the great Irish tradition. He loves telling stories and singing songs in the old way. Jim helps to carry on this wonderful tradition, taking themes from Irish history, culture and traditions. Many of the stories and songs are humorous while others are quite serious. Jim has written some of the stories himself based on his experiences and memories of growing up in Castletown, Geoghegan, County Westmeath.
As Jim joins us for a hangout in The Síbín, he will take time to discuss different aspects of Irish history and culture. Jim encourages everyone to speak about their own Irish roots and connections by sending real-time messages in the Main Chat Room here at TheWildGeese.com, via Twitter, or via The Wild Geese Facebook page. He'll try to get to as many questions, comments, and requests as possible.
So please, pull up a stool and join us in The Wild Geese Virtual Síbín this Monday at 4:00 p.m. Eastern (U.S.) Time (9:00 p.m. Irish Time)
Sounds like fun! I'll try to tune in from Arctic Chicago.
luckily for me, I am home because of the weather and hopefully I can listen to Jim's stories.
