I am an Irish-American living in Chicago. Both of my grandparents emigrated from County Kerry (Farranfore and Whitegate) in the early 1900's. In 2012 I went "back home" for the very first time, taking a heritage driving tour of the country. My only regret is that I did not do this twenty years ago! Now I'm even more fascinated with my Irish heritage and cannot wait to go back!

Next week I'll be lucky enough to spend 48 hours in Dublin! In honor of the occasion, what great work of Irish literature shall I read on the plane ride over the lake? What are the top spots I should hit while in Dublin? Do you have any special Dublin friends who would enjoy a visit from a Yank? There are so many choices it's almost overwhelming!! I'll have a full 48 hours to explore!
