The Wild Geese team are pleased to introduce the newest of The Wild Geese Irish Heritage Partners, Cathal O Malley. Cathal is a self-taught artist living in Connemara (County Galway). He paints mostly in oils and acyrlics, and portrays a variety of subjects. Most of his paintings feature Ireland's stunning landscapes, but will also include animals, people, and other still life scenes from time to time.
We sought Cathal out because we were immediately struck by how well his paintings capture the essence of Ireland. We are delighted to bring his work more exposure, as it vividly brings to life, in our view, the Irish experience. Cathal has gained a following around Ireland, and his work is now being sought after internationally, as well. These are the scenes every passionate member of the worldwide Irish diaspora envisions when they think of their ancestral homeland. Cathal paints the scenes that linger in the memories of those who have seen Ireland, and in the imaginations of those who long to go.
Take a few minutes to view the gallery below displaying a small selection of Cathal's paintings. Perhaps most enticing is Cathal's willingness to work on commissioned pieces for his clients ... that is, if there is a certain scene or location in Ireland that is especially meaningful to you, a family member, or a friend, Cathal will create for you a lasting treasure on canvas.
You can follow Cathal and his work via his Facebook page, and also his website, www.CathalOMalley.com. And if you're thinking about how to budget for such an evocative piece of art (and how many of us aren't?), you'll be pleased to see Cathal's very reasonable prices for both his original works of art and the prints thereof.
For now, enjoy this small gallery of Cathal O Malley's original works:
