Profile Information

James M. Madden is a historian, author, and speaker who has written extensively on New Jersey and Irish-American Civil War history. He coauthored the Hidden History of New Jersey series with Joseph G. Bilby and Harry Ziegler. He was a founding member, trustee, and treasurer of the New Jersey Civil War Heritage Association (NJCWHA), served on the 150th New Jersey Sesquicentennial Civil War Committee contributing to all their publications, and is a member of the Military History Society of Ireland, the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Hudson County Genealogy and Historical Society, the Phil Kearny Civil War Round Table of Northern Jersey, and a Fellow of the Company of Military Historians and Irish-American Baseball Society. Jim is also the author of the blog www.AmericanFenians.com.
