Here is a link to my new memoir "That's That". It was just released here in the US by Random House a couple of weeks ago. It covers the first twenty years of my life growing up in Northern Ireland in the seventies and eighties during the height of The Troubles. You can check out some of the early reviews here.

Hi, Colin.
Just want to be the first to welcome you here to The Wild Geese. Was just looking at your memoir there on Amazon, and I must say it sounds intriguing. I will be checking that out soon enough.
Hope to hear more from you here via blog posts and input on some of the discussions here. I'd say you most definitely have perspective which will add a great deal to this community.
Thanks, Colin, and welcome aboard!
~ Ryan
Thanks for being the first to make me feel right at home Ryan.
Colin, Failte! Delighted to learn that "Orangutan," your first book, is receiving a cinematic interpretation. What can you tell us about that project? And do provide us a schedule of readings, once they are underway. We'll look for opportunities to highlight the book, and your complete oeuvre as we can. Feel free to make suggestions. We are delighted to gain your hard-gained perspective here. Ger
A good friend of mine, named Chuck Laverty, emigrated from The Moy. Where in Tyrone are you from? And you undoubtedly know Owen Rodgers.
Check out Colin's blog here: http://www.colinbroderick.com. Colin, looking forward to coaxing some of these insights into your Irish experience with us here. Meanwhile, check out Colin's new book, a memoir of his upbringing in wartorn County Tyrone in the 1970s and 1980s.

I have heard of Owen Rogers, in fact I've been told we are neighbors here but I don't think we've actually met yet. We will soon, I am sure. I am from a place called Altamuskin, in County Tyrone. It's between Sixmilecross and Ballygawley. I've been living in New York now for twenty five years, and loving it. Thanks for the plug Gerry. I might be doing an online chat here on Monday. I'll post details as I know more. I'm off now to do a couple of interviews for the afternoon. If any of you are on the east coast here I will be featured in both The Irish Echo and The Irish Voice newspapers tomorrow. The articles should be online a couple of days after that. I will post them. All the best for now.
Congrats on that coverage, Colin. TTLY then.
Our local library has an Open Mike night in which people read what they've written. I'm trying to get them to consider a "Words I Wish I Had Written" evening where people read from another author. If they agree to it, I'll read from the last scene in That's That. If I did that, it might explain the tears I shed at the beach at Avon-By-The Sea, NJ this morning as I finished your excellent memoir.
Thank you so much for the kind words Jim. There's no greater reward for a writer than to hear that the reader was moved. You've made my Saturday. Have a great day.
