"In the vestibule of this mausoleum you will encounter the statue of Guillèn Lamport, an Irishman who in the 17th Century planned the independence of New Spain from the metropole. His intentions were frustrated by the court of the Inquisition, who condemned him to the stake for heresy, after which he stayed in prison for 17 years."
