I came across this arrangement behind an ancient Catholic church on the road from Kinvara to Ballyvaughn. There was not a soul anywhere around when I found this circle!

These were created by an American student studying at the Burren College of the Arts
If you were to get down to grass level and look through the cutouts, each one is at a direct angle across from another...

I would have to hunt up my notes from my 2009 trip to verify, but I believe they represent the human spirit and how earthly bindings cannot hold them down when striving for their heavenly goal...
