THE TIMES OF INDIA is the World’s largest selling English Daily. Founded on November 3, 1838 as The Bombay Times, a bi-weekly , during the British Raj. Its editor was J.E. Brennan, a retired Irish doctor who was also secretary of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce. He died of cholera in 1839. Bombay Times became daily in 1850
