Join us this Thursday (June 19, 2014) at 5:00 p.m. Eastern (U.S.) Time for a LIVE Wild Geese Community Chat with film writer and director, Sean Lackey. Sean will be joining us to discuss his recently released independent film, "The Yank." As always, we'll gather in the Main Chat Room here at TheWildGeese.com for the chat.
Shot on location in Cleveland, Ohio, Dublin and County Clare, Ireland, "The Yank" is a farcical comedy satire that tells the story of Tom Murphy, a middle-aged, Irish-American bachelor from Cleveland. For Tom’s family, "the ideal woman" for their son is hard-working, family-oriented and (like his parents) 100-percent Irish. So when his best friend, Marty, decides to get married in Ireland, Tom's family and friends send him off to the ‘Emerald Isle’ on a side-splitting epic adventure.
Tom's plan to find his dream takes him on a journey of self-discovery to a land that defies his original expectations. He may find out that the grass isn't always greener, even in Ireland. With the help of relations he's met for the first time, he may ultimately determine what it means to be Irish in 2013....the year of "The Gathering."
"The Yank" was written and directed by Sean Lackey and stars Colm Meaney ("The Commitments", "The Van", "Star Trek"), Fred Willard ("Best In Show"), Niki Spiridakos (“Blind Ambition”), Kevin Farley ("Tommy Boy"), Martin Maloney (“The Hardy Bucks Movie”), Nicole Forester (“Jack Reacher”, "Boss"), Charlotte Bradley ("Veronica Guerin"), and Sean Lackey himself.
