"Kennedy’s Cadets” tells the extraordinary story of this group of Irish teenagers, who in the space of 48 hours found themselves catapulted to the forefront of the world’s media, standing beside the grave of the most powerful man in the Western world. And, in a truly emotional epilogue to the story, three of the members of that cadet class who have not returned to Washington since 1963, make that journey once more, to the gravesite where they stood with their classmates, all those years ago.
The Documentary is presented ‘as Gaeilge’ with subtitles in English.

The New York Irish Center are thrilled to announce that we are honored to have a very very special guest at “Kennedy’s Cadets” here at the New York Irish Center on Friday 22nd of Nov. Army 1st Lt. Martin Dockery was a member of the Army's prestigious "Old Guard" ceremonial unit, the memories are a little more personal: He was in charge of the ushers at Kennedy's funeral at St. Matthew's Cathedral. Army 1st Lt. Martin Dockery also was responsible for meeting, greeting and hosting the Irish Cadet's requested by Jacqueline Kennedy to perform a silent graveside drill her husband had admired during his visit to Ireland earlier that year. Directly after our screening on Friday, Martin has very graciously agreed to share and talk about his experience.
