Event Description

Please join us for the 8th Annual Sean-nós Northwest Festival!  Sean-nós Northwest celebrates and promotes traditional Irish culture by offering a weekend of workshops in sean-nós singing, sean-nós dancing, Gaeilge, traditional Irish music, storytelling, art, genealogy, and even cooking.  This year's featured guest instructors are Liam Ó Cuinneagáin for Gaeilge studies, Brían Ó hAirt for sean-nós singing, Brian Cunningham for sean-nós dance, Dale Russ and Tes Slominski for Fiddle, and Danny O'Mahony for Accordion.  The festival also includes a CD launch/house party, a session, and a concert featuring festival instructors demonstrating their craft.  All experience levels are welcome, from absolute beginners to master-level singers, dancers, and musicians and conversational speakers.

The festival is held at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, about an hour south of Seattle. Assistance with in-town and airport transportation may be available on request.

Instructor bios, schedule, on-line registration, and additional information are available on our web site at www.seannos.org.
