I am a semi-retired layer-law professor in Virginia, and I have worked and taught at law school on The Ould Sod in Belfast, N.I.;Dublin, Galway, and Limerick in the Republic, and I am back frequently. My mother's ancestors (Murphy) came from COunty Wexford, and my father's (Doherty), from County Donegal. A member of the Irish Association of Law Teachers and the Irish Legal History Society, I have an abiding interest in all things Irish. :)
Delighted to have another Brehon in the WG family, Carol. Failte! I'm not an attorney, but I'm quite sure we have a number in our ranks. What's your favorite destination in Ireland? And I do hope you share with us some of your most memorable Irish experiences and images -- it sounds like you have had many.
Hi, Gerry! I'll jot down some thought and send back, okay?
A favorite place on The Ould Sod would be difficult to cite, but I can surely mention two where I've lived (the Republic and Northern Ireland) that remain forever in my heart: Galway and Belfast. :)
