Hi Kerrie. I saw your post of 15.8.16 on the O'Sullivan page. Your gg g/f had at least one other brother, John, (b.1846) who was my great grandfather. He stayed on the family farm at Gurrane. The younger five of his ten children (including my g/m Julia/Sheila) emigrated to NZ about 1910. I knew that they had O'Sullivan relatives here - that must have been your family. I would like to make contact with you, if you are willing. I live in Wellington, NZ. Email: leigh.roberts@xtra.co.nz.
I hope your trip to Ireland goes/went well. There was family still at Gurrane when I visited there with my father in the 1980s - an old man who must have been John's grandson. His four sons were all in America, so I doubt that there would be family there now.
Hi Kerrie & Phillippa,
My great grandfather Daniel Sullivan was from Gurrane, born 1861. (I'm almost positive). His baptism records say Castlemaine. His father was Eugene or Owen. His mother was Honora or Helena Healy. He had a brother named Patrick, born 1864. They both immigrated to America and lived in NJ. They had a sister named Margaret (1866) and a brother Edmond (1869). I haven't found anything about Margaret or Edmond yet. Daniel died in NJ in 1924 and his obituary said he still has a sister in Ireland. Any hints? Clues? Family lines I can search for?
Thanks.
Nancy Sullivan Adams
