Remembrances of the First Time
Farewell to my friends and relations as we leave to go
To the place of my ancestors, so long lost in the fogs of Donegal
We walk on the cliffs that sing with the wind that
Once filled the sails of escape and sadness
I long to trace those roots back to times filled with hope...and gladness
Send us back to those magical shores
Spanish Point through the Cliffs of Moher
Graced by the birds and moss of a time worn edge
On towards Sligo Bay and passing horses on the beach onto
The bog of Inagh holding both secrets and warmth of a peat fire
We are graced and in gratitude to be traveling
The roads where the bowling crosses high views
With Craic of the trad played in the corner pub and
Dancers on barrel heads near Sligo
We are graced and in gratitude for this gift from
Michael & Trish and the Wild West Tours
We are graced…and grateful…
Very Grateful.
