James Kennedy McGuire, the 'Boy Mayor' of Syracuse

James Kennedy McGuire, the “boy mayor” of Syracuse, NY, is profiled in a new book. The McGuire family, from Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, emigrated to New York City, where James was born, but later moved to Syracuse.

He became mayor at the age of 27 and served three terms.  Read more about this powerful and skilled public speaker and best-selling author, who did so much for education and the arts, among other things, all the while retaining a strong commitment to Irish nationalism.
