recently, I was able to trace my family from Seattle, Washington and all the steps they took from the home in county Laois. All my life I never knew where my family came from... just Ireland. I feel pretty good about bringing my family back to life....and in my imagination I could really feel who these people were. It also helped to watch period shows like "Coppers" and "Boardwalk Empire" I read books on the history of Ireland and America in the 1800's and early 1900's... The journey was so worth it! I will be sharing the whole story on Irish American Mom.

Who am I? I'm a 3rd generation Boeing truck driver, artist, musician, hot rodder, and into the rockabilly scene. I love fun, and never take life too seriously. I have even played a villain in a hot rod "B" movie! I'm usually the cook in our house, so I have been cooking Irish dishes some turned out good, some eh, not so good. Life is an adventure, and my cooking experiments are carefully critiqued by the boss of the house, who happens to be English, and always jokingly reminds me! She is a good sport, and I was surprised she tried a full Irish breakfast not to long ago....when I met her 10 years ago, and I was surprised she started to eat meat...but nothing in a "tube" (hotdogs) or anything "gross" so the white and black pudding, the bangers? SHE LOVED THEM! So we go to a specialty meat market so we can get bangers, rashers, white and black pudding.

I look forward to meeting, and talking to all of you!!!!!

Cairrghe a chara, delighted you jumped in and shared your 'Irish story' with us. Tell us a bit if you will about your various ancestors, or at least what you've learned about them so far, and how you've gone about your research.
