On day five of your adventure with Cupid's Crusade, we take a trip from Doolin, County Clare to the Aran Islands in the mouth of Galway Bay. The Aran Islands are the birthplace of the sweater worn by so many the world over. Knitted by the women on spinning wheels, unique patterns were designed for each family. If the man died at sea, they would be able to identify him by the sweater.
Aran is also a place time has forgotten. The locals move at their pace without worrying about the rest of the world. There is some lovely walking and bicycling here. The best treat is a ride around the Island in a horse and buggy. These islands are places of incredible beauty in the middle of the ocean -- stone walls, pastures scattered with sheep, ruined castles, an underground church, and lots of other special things.
We spend six hours on the island, and then return to Doolin via the Cliffs off Moher so you can see these majestic beauties from the sea.
Later that night, its dancing in Lisdoonvarna; but, if you wish to spend an evening in Doolin listening to some great music, just let us know and we will arrange transport.
Meet us at Shannon Airport on September 14, 2015 for your adventure of a lifetime.
