NEW HAVEN, CT……….The AOH Division 7, New Haven, CT voted to endorse the Éire Nua Campaign in the United States at their monthly meeting on September 24, 2013.

The proposal was introduced by their Freedom For All Ireland Chairman, Peadar Mac Maghnuis. It was supported by the Division 7 President, Jason McWade, and the general membership in attendance.

“This is a historic vote for Division 7 that will have significant influence over the state and National AOH organizations”, commented Seosamh Flaithbheartigh, CT State Chair for the AOH Freedom for All Ireland Committee who was also in attendance.

What is Eire Nua? “Éire Nua (New Ireland) is a comprehensive Irish authored political program designed to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ireland in the context of British withdrawal. Initially proposed by Sinn Féin in 1972, Éire Nua sets forth specific proposals to start the process of Irish reunification and reconciliation. It also includes proposals for a new all-Ireland constitution. The principle on which Éire Nua is based envisions a system of government in which all creeds and traditions would be represented and all citizens could exercise real power, without any one group infringing on the rights of others.”
