I gaze upon a lonely beach, two figures walking all alone,
Slowly the sun settles in the west, remnants of daylight shone.
From my vantage I see two shadows moving on the beach,
Strolling slowly just within darkness’ reach.
I watch the pair moving slowly along,
And listen carefully, I can hear their song.
A lifetime of love and as well as friendship,
Sisters together not bound by kinship.
A lifetime of memories that they share,
Always caring for one another here and there.
A lifetime of families that have together grown,
Pride gleaming from their smiles well shown.
A lifetime of friendship regardless of time and distance,
Sharing a walk on an Irish beach this very instance.
A lifetime of pain and happiness they share,
While lines of gray touch their hair.
A lifetime friendship that eludes some,
For me wishing it to last for many years yet to come.
As darkness slowly consumes their presence from my sight,
And the sun disappears to allow for the night.
I leave my perch up on that hill,
Their song flowing in my mind still.
Warmth in my heart, a smile on my face,
As I leave this peaceful place.
Knowing that God’s blessing on a friendship so long,
And if you listen carefully you can hear it in their song.
To my Queens...Your humble Knight.
Simply beautiful.
Lovely!
