Jennie Irene Hodgers AKA Albert D.J. Cashier: The Incognito Civil War Soldier.

Jennie Irene Hodgers (December 25, 1843 – October 10, 1915) was born in Clogherhead, County Louth, Ireland to Sallie and Patrick Hodgers. She served as a male soldier in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Jennie Irene Hodgers was born female, but lived as a man named Albert D.J. Cashier.
