Just wanted to take a minute to welcome you here to The Wild Geese.  Hope you've had a look around at what's on offer here.  Feel free to join in the conversation whenever the mood strikes!

I see you're from eastern Kentucky, and not too far from Harlan.  My ancestors came in from Ireland through Philadelphia, then down into what is the modern-day extreme southwestern tip of Virginia, then over the border into Harlan, where they became -- what else? -- coal miners.  I'm now living back in "the motherland."

Anyhow, I'd love to hear your own "Irish story."  How long has your family been in eastern Kentucky?
