Great to have the Deadys 'in the house'!
Thanks Gerry, my ancestor Jeremiah Deady must have left Ireland sometime after the potato famine started and was in the U.S. Civil War on the union side with the 82d Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Got wounded on the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg, July 1, 1863, with a gun shot through his right thigh. Went back later after recovering to his unit and served till the end of the conflict.
