Beann Mhadagáin...on a clear day, you can see teh Mullof Galloway and the Isle of Mann...or so I have been told...my eyesight has never been keen enough...even up there...

True, Bit, not that there are too many clear days to find out. The Belfast Hills Partnership are doing great work on opening trails and encouraging people to take to these hills on their doorstep.

I'm usually up nearby Divis Mountain on a Sunday morning. I heard a report a while ago that the Ordnance Survey used a quicklime fire (the original limelight) on top of Divis to get their bearings as far away as Donegal

Thanks for adding to my knowledge regarding the original limelight,  I always wondered where that phrase originated.
