Is there a 'Gentleman' Bug -- sorry, couldn't resist. Lisa, how big a lens did you use here? And a tripod? What were the lighting conditions?

Gerry…Not that I'm aware of. LOL! It was my trusty 18-200mm zoom. This was shot at 200mm. ISO 400, F5.6, 1/1250. Bright sunny day…I think it was early afternoon, this past August. No tripod. Just my (apparently) steady hands. Thanks for asking!

Steady hands, indeed ... even if you have VR on the lens, that's a sharp image.  Well done, Lisa.  A nice fast shutter speed helped too.  And thanks for NOT placing the focal point in the very centre of the image! :-)  Much more interesting as you have it.

Thank you, Ryan, and you are very welcome.  I know how much you hate it when I do that.  ;)

Elaborate, Ryan. What's the tip here for less-experienced fotogs, then?

"Rule of thirds," Gerry.  Picture a grid on the photo, like a tic-tac-toe board.  Ideally and in most cases, you'll want your focal point (a face, an animal, or whatever it is) to be at or near one of the places where the lines intersect.  Almost NEVER in the very centre of the image.
