On the R-335 just north of Doolough Valley, Co. Mayo.

Ireland: Co. Mayo. Heading south down R-335 toward the Doolough Valley, the same route walked by several hundred victims of the Great Hunger on the night of March 30, 1849 hoping for help from two British commissioners at Delphi Lodge on Lough Doolough. For many it was the final walk of their lives. The knowledge of the tragedy that occurred there contrasts with the incredible beauty of the scenery.
