Close to 150 last night in Manhattan got a 'sneak peak' at WG member Eamon Loingsigh's long-awaited debut novel, "Light of the Diddicoy." Eamon (pictured) and actor, writer and raconteur Malachy McCourt both read from Eamon's new book, due from Three Rooms Press in March. The gathering, at Greenwich Village's Barrow Street Theatre, also featured readings by author Richard Vetere and playwright Israel Horowitz, who teamed on Vetere's new novel "Writer's Afterlife," narrating how a novelist gets a second chance at fame AFTER his passing. Loingsigh's novel is the brutal saga of Irish-American gangs on the Brooklyn waterfront in the early part of the 20th century, told through the eyes of Irish immigrant Liam Garrity. The work of Vetere and Loingsigh are both published by Three Rooms Press, and were introduced by Three Rooms' Peter Carlaftes.
