Directly opposite the old Convent de San Diego. Formerly place of executions (Quemadero) of the Inquisition in Mexico City. Site of William Lamport's / Guillèn de Lombardo's death.
Nowadays far more peaceful: flanked by e.g. The Palace de Bellas Artes, the Torre Latinoamericano, and the justly famous La Cardinale restaurante in the Hilton.
