It looks like there is a story to go with this photo, Richard.

The picture is my uncle John. We think he was in Canada at the time.

If that was taken in Montreal, I wonder if it refers to a Member of the Dow family? Though William Dow had no children, his brother Andrew did.William Dow emigrated from Scotland to Montreal, was hired as a Brewmaster by Thomas Dunn, became his partner and then, upon Dunn's death, became the owner.

Interestingly, he named his home Strathearn House. It is now a restaurant

Bit,

Very interesting. My Uncle John on the far right is from Derry Ireland. I do not know who the other people are. It looks like they were celebrating the stock market crash. Strange celebration! Maybe the person in the center might be Thomas Dunn. My profile shows the many spellings of Strathern. Our family history fails to show the connection with Scotland. My DNA has a 100 markers so we may find our something soon. Maybe we are Picts!

Bit,

Thanks for the information.

Both Dunn and Dow were long deceased by 1929. As I found out with my family tree... There was much traveling in between the North of Ireland and Scotland. My own family, Markethill, Armagh & Cullybackey, Antrim, went back and forth as economics warranted
