This statue by sculptor Jerome Connor, is in memory of those lost when the Cunard liner was sunk by U-20 on 7th May, 1915, off the Old Head of Kinsale. The liner was heading for Cobh and it was to here that some of the recovered bodies were brought, some to be buried here.
