The Hill of Tara has been an important site since the late Stone Age. The Lia Fáil, or Stone of Destiny (on the right) was said to cry out when the rightful High King of Ireland was close by. The Hill of Tara is reputed to allow a glimpse of no less than 25% of the Irish mainland on a good clear day.
