Fort Gray was named in honor of Irish engineer, Colonel Nicholas Gray. The guns of Fort Gray helped support the Americans during the Battle of Queenston Heights on October 13, 1812. Fort Gray was located at Lewiston, New York, directly opposite the highest point of Queenston Heights.
