Galway's slum
Color and details are amazing
I suppose the Claddagh was the slum of the day were the poorest of the city use to live. Further up from the scene in the painting was where the city dump use to be but is long gone and looks beautiful with it's open grassy area in front of the sea.
it is a lovely picture. I was referring more to the long walk, which was TB ridden in the twenties. People from there used to go into public offices and sneeze all over the official books and ledgers. Looking at the same ledgers recently I had to be careful not to catch it as spores still remain on the pages..
I find stories like that fascinating, it gives a more human touch. To think that part of those people still survive today.
