Grave of Artic explorer , 19th Century Meterologist , New York Journalist and Founder of Clan na Gael as well as subject of Jeannette Expedition Enquiry . This grave and view was overlooked by the attending mourners who included Michael Davitt and John Redmond MPs. The funeral was the culmination of the longest funeral in history , having covered over 14,800 miles from the Artic to Denmark to NYC to Queenstown and then to Curraghkippane . Great view...I would have thouhgt they might have faced the grave the other way...so that his spirit's eye might rest on the view, as well
