'Sheridan's Ride' and Sheridan's Commanding Statue

Washington, Nov. 25, 1989 -- At a magnificent equestrian statue in the heart of the nation's capital, Gerry Regan recites "Sheridan's Ride," an epic poem by Thomas Buchanan Read depicting Maj. Gen. Phil Sheridan's feat in turning the tide of battle at Cedar Creek, Virginia, during America's Civil War.
