The Humbert Monument in Humbert Street, Ballina was erected to mark the 100th Anniversary of the French landing. The figure on the monument is Mother Ireland, it was unveiled by Maud Gonne McBride, and it was rededicated by her son Sean McBride in 1987, I have walked past that monument many times in my life.
