IRISH-AMERICAN SINGERS

Irish America has for generations had its own popular style of Irish music and song. Popular with Irish Americans from the 1920s to the 1970s, this style of singing continues on, but has lost ground to the more traditional and "authentic" styles of Irish music that came to America with the folk and traditional music revivals that became popular in Ireland in the early 60s. The Irish American singers listed here have a style that is nothing like that found in the Old Country, this music was and still is "Irish-American" in every way.
