Kim, thank you for sharing this. Does Waterford Crystal make crystal in that factory any more? Or is the factory today used to engrave, and perhaps package, imported crystal?

 When we were there for the tour through the factory they had a gentleman making crystal and blowing the glass..unless it has changed since last May I think they still make the crystal there at least most of it...it was so interesting seeing them cut the glass. I've since heard that the man who made the 9/11 memorial is on his own now and has a shop in Waterford..didn't know that til just a few days ago. He's a very talented artist.

It seems to me that Waterford Crystal, since it reopened in 2010, imports much, perhaps most of its crystal from overseas. Here's some background from Wikipedia. The creator of the work you've pictured, Sean Egan, by the way, is among the newest of The Wild Geese Irish Heritage Partners.

 That is so cool that Sean Egan is a part of this Wild Geese group...WELCOME!!!! and thanks for the info..I'm sure most of the crystal is from overseas....during the tour I just don't remember the guide saying much about it. It's still wonderful to see the talent it takes for the people to make such beautiful pieces.
