P S Gilmore made at least 2 trips to Vienna to secure the services of Johann Strauss Jnr "the Waltz King"for Boston , In addition he paid Strauss for his services and persuaded Strauss to break a contract he had with none other than the Tsar and Tsarina or Russia . Strauss came reluctantly , constantly worried that his locks could be taken by the much reported Indians of America . He then published the " Jubilee Waltz " in 1872 in Springfield Mass , dedicated to P S Gilmore and in the actual stadium he conducted and played the piece with his renowned orchestra with P S Gilmore looking on . He wrote back to Europe in praise of Gilmore . It is reported but not confirmed that the Tsar or rather the railway company sued Strauss for breach of contract and won $ 27000 expenses , all because of Patrick Sarsfield Gilmore
