Talbot Castle, also known as St Mary's Abbey, was the childhood home of Arthur Wellesley, better Known as the Duke of Wellington. Another well known resident of this home was William Rowan Hamilton, Irish physicist, astronomer, and mathematician, who made important contributions to classical mechanics, optics, and algebra.
