I'm the volunteer administrator of the Bowes DNA project at Family Tree DNA and have registered the Bowes One-Name Study with the Guild of One-Name Studies. I study the Bowes surname worldwide, which includes Irish Bowe, from which Bowes in the south of Ireland derives. The study also includes the Scots-Irish Bowes from the north of Ireland. If you are interested in this surname, please visit our facebook page as well!

Hi, Martha, and welcome to The Wild Geese community! Hope you'll find this a welcoming group of folks and that you'll check in often to feed your interest in and passion for all-things-Irish. :-)
Thanks for your input on the genetic genealogy issues. I hope to hear more about this in the days ahead. Perhaps you can write a blog on your experience with this.
See you around.
