I wanted to share this excellent blog post from a good website called The Ancestor Hunt.  It lists 45 reasons why we should be researching immigration records in our genealogical research.  The idea is that some of these records include some very interesting and obscure information about our ancestors, including such things as hair colour, eye colour, if they were an anarchist or polygamist.
