I relished depictions like this of fascinating and sadly obscure moments in the history of the Irish. I found the plot line inspiring, the sets not only authentic but largely original, and acting astute in this latest from Sixteen Films.

I agree wholeheartedly with Gerry Regan on all the aspects of Jimmy' s Hall being very authentic. My favorite line is spoken by Jimmy' s mother as he is deported. She says,( not verbatim), that she supposes she is to blame for she taught him to read good books. I think it was a little "tongue in cheek". The scenery is the killer however because it tears your heart out for the wanting to go back to Ireland.
