Finding my great grandmother's family
I am interested in completing my family tree with regards to my paternal grandfather's mother, Lucretia Jane McGuigan who was born on 22 Apr 1857 in Chanceford Township, York, PA and died 31 Oct 1935 in York County, PA. She married Francis Cloman Barton who was born on 03 Jun 1849 and died 29 May 1903. I have the names Michael and Anna (unknown maiden name) McGuigan as her parents and since I have not found anything about them in the United States, I assume they must have been born in Ireland. Any help is appreciated. --Kathy

Hi, Kathy. I believe the largest concentration of McGuigans came from County Tyrone. That might be a good place to begin. Have you seen the recently posted article about getting started with genealogical research?
