Did ancient Egyptians visit pre-christian Ireland?
Irish scientists have found fragments of Egyptian papyrus in the leather cover of an ancient book of psalms that was unearthed from a peat bog, Ireland's National Museum said on Monday.

THis is the Faddenmore Psalter found in 2007 and currently on display. The early church has extensive contacts in North Africa. I believe there were islands off the North African coast named after Saint Brendan. Ireland was not as isolated then you might think. The remains of an ape were found at Navan Fort aka Eamhain Macha.
