Now the results are in, the international community, the ordinary people, are going to take a more critical look at the US as the best example of democracy in the free world. What Americans do in this time of difficulty remains to be seen but I really hope that God blesses America. 

A great novel 'The Stars Look Down' by AJ Cronin is worth reading and comparing one of his characters..."Joe Gowlan" with President Elect Donald Trump. The US has had so many inspiring Presidents and it is scary to see what is unfolding in present day America. 

That aside and in the spirit of Irish philosophy, and in keeping with the forthcoming Christmas celebrations. may I recommend a lighter read 'The Bodhran Makers' by JB Keane as a tribute to what being really Irish is about.
