The Wild Geese Virtual Síbín with Annette Counihan

We hope you enjoy the video just below which was broadcast LIVE here at TheWildGeese.com on Thursday, February 13, 2014 with Annette Counihan.  Our live broadcasts from The Wild Geese Virtual Síbín give us all an opportunity to interact and learn from some of the "movers and shakers" in the worldwide Irish community.  We always encourage our members to use the live chat function here on the site to submit questions, comments, and requests during our live hangouts in The Virtual Síbín.

The final six minutes of the video were cut off to to a technical glitch, so we apologize for the rather abrupt ending.

Annette is a single business owner originally from Dublin, Ireland who has lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for 30 years.  Annette's business, Cupid's Crusade, is a unique travel company catering to singles of both genders. They offer a variety of vacations to Ireland.  The 2013 Crusade paid a visit the town of love -- Lisdoonvarna, County Clare.  Once a year, this town comes alive with the legendary Matchmaking Festival.  Singles from all over the world gather to attend this event.  They come to meet Willie Daly, a traditional matchmaker, whose family has been matchmaking for as long as the festival has been in existence.

The Crusader adventure is a seven-day adventure that begins with an evening at Daly's, a traditional pub.  There you will find Willie the Matchmaker. He will have a private meeting with you and review your profile. You will have time to discuss anything you wish.  From there, you'll also experience some of the most quintessential Irish locations, including the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren.

We're bringing today's hangout in The Virtual Síbín to you with the help of Dublin-based TheIrishStore.com, sending Irish-made gifts and hand-made Irish crafts to friends and family ... worldwide for the past 20 years.

The next Cupid's Crusade begins in Ireland on September 16, 2014.

Some will find love, and all will have wonderful memories.

Really interesting interview. One question though about matchmaking traditions in Ireland: Is matchmaking a male business in Ireland? (I'd actually never even heard or thought of a man being a matchmaker before. In most of the cultures I've encountered where traditional matchmaking endures matchmakers are almost always women of a grandmotherly age.)
